Nasi Lemak

Nasi lemak is one of the most common dishes in Malaysia, considered to be a soothing dish at any time of the day. Malaysians never get bored with this wonderful dish that serves with its special fragrant and rich-tasting coconut milk rice garnished with hot spicy sweet sauce (sambal), small fried anchovies (ikan bilis), fresh cucumber slices, roasted peanuts and hard-boiled or fried egg. Nasi lemak can also be eaten with a protein dish such as fried chicken (ayam goreng), chili cuttlefish (sambal sotong), and etc

This special dish is usually served in wrapped banana leaves, brown paper, or in some of the shops served on a tray. Normally we will find this food sold at hawker food centres, roadside stalls and night markets (Pasar malam)


Nasi Kandar

One of the favorite foods we can get in any state of Malaysia is Nasi Kandar.
Every Nasi kandar Lover should be tried by the Nasi kandar in Penang.  In reality, the original way of selling it to Indian-Muslim traders has evolved over the years,
from carrying food in containers hanging on a "kandar" (a pole) on their shoulders to traditional restaurants.

Nowadays, Nasi kandar outlets in Penang have mushroomed because of its success. On long holidays, the most popular shops are full of customers, both local and international. Now at Penang, we can get 10 different Nasi kandar Restaurants with a special taste.

Nasi Kerabu

A homecooked Nasi Kerabu served with some special chili sauce. 

Nasi kerabu is a Malay rice dish with blue-coloured rice eaten with dried fish or fried chicken, crackers, pickles, hard-boiled salted eggs and other salads. It's very popular as a Kelantan breakfast dish. The rice is beautifully blue, which has been soaked and cooked with the purplish-blue butterfly pea or bunga telang extract.
