CRYSTAL MOSQUE IN MALAYSIA

 An extravagant mosque that honours modern Islam.

MALAYSIA ISLAMIC HERITAGE PARK ON Wan Man Island illustrates the difference between prayer and commerce.  It is one of the most spectacular Islamic places of worship in the world, the Crystal Mosque.

The mosque, made of steel and glass, is unlike any other in the world. Its sleek, modern look reflects the water, and the mosque is often illuminated from the inside, making its glass domes shine. Keeping up with its modern style, the entire mosque is also, bizarrely, connected to wireless internet and full IT facilities, apparently a source of pride for the architects.

Islam Heritage Park not only features replicas of much of the world's most famous mosques in the world. Bizarrely enough, in this theme park that embraces Islamic culture around the globe, the Crystal Mosque contains elements of Chinese architecture and design, as well as the irritation of many Malaysians.
