Kamala Perumal. She was childless for 16 years. The feeling of being barren taunted her badly. Being a barren woman within the Indian society made it worse. People used to say to her, “The clock is ticking”.
Affected by this, Kamala ended up withdrawing from all her relationships. Instead, she focused on her efforts in performing numerous prayers in temples in India.
Kamala had to rely on prayers because back then in the 1990s, undergoing an IVF (in-vitro fertilization) procedure was mostly done in private hospitals. She just could not afford it.
However, her prayers would soon answer. As the saying goes, ‘The sun comes up after the rain’.
Our current reigning queen, Tunku Azizah Maimunah came into her life like Hindu Goddess Laxmi to wipe away her sorrow. Kamala had the golden opportunity to undergo IVF treatment sponsored by the queen’s Tunku Azizah Fertility Foundation (TAFF). According to Kamala, the Queen assured her with words of comfort and encouragement. Undeniably her presence was a ray of hope to her during such a difficult time.
Eventually, after going through 3 attempts in achieving a pregnancy, Kamala was blessed with a baby boy. She stated that having the cute little baby him in her hands, wrapped up in a bundle on 27th October 2006 remains the best moment. The tears of joy were uncontrollable.
Today, she is 53 years old, and a proud mother of a 14-year-old boy. Let’s take a moment to wish “HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL THE BEATIFUL LADIES”
