HOW TO DISPOSE OF HAZARDOUS WASTE

Almost everything that we own has potential to become the hazardous waste. Everything that related with hazardous waste must be handling carefully due to its hidden dangerous potential. Thus, it is crucial to know how to handle and dispose it nonetheless.


· Mobile phones and phone batteries – mobile phones and accessories using heavy metals. Mobile phone retailers and other similar retail stores will accept the used mobile phones for recycling under the mobile phone industry recycling program.

· Rechargeable batteries – batteries can be taken to any garage that collect used for recycle reason or sell it to any company-owned retail for an extra cash that collect recycle able waste.

· Car batteries – these are usually collected by many council waste transfer stations, landfills and some major battery retailers or give to local authority for proper disposal. 

· Gas cylinders (LPG) – these include cylinders used for BBQs, patio heaters, caravans, camping and lamps. These cylinders can be returned through swap programs provided by retailers for replacement, refilling or disposal. Charges may apply in some instances.

· Used motor oils – these can be recycled. There are people that collect this item for recycle purpose while others going to be dispose properly together with others hazardous household waste.

· Laser and printer inkjet cartridges – these can be taken to printing shop and refill or be sold for those who collect it due to recycling matter.
