Meet Real Live Orangutans at Sepilok


The orangutan is known as the Asia's only endemic great ape. It can be seen in the wild at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center in Sabah and Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in Sarawak. There are about 80 orangutans now taking shelter in the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre. Many are successfully been rescues, and now experiencing a rehabilitation process. This will ease them back into the wild by teaching them essential survival skills. Visitors to Sepilok can watch orangutans to play from viewing platforms throughout the park. Tourists can also take a river safari cruise on the Kinabatangan River for a glimpse of the wild from the water.
