REVIEW: NETFLIX'S INHERITORS (SEASON 1)

In The Inheritors all of the usual ingredients of a K-drama are included. There are elite high school kids, heir to their family-run conglomerates, rich-boy-fall-for-poor-girl, and siblings and best friends rivalry.

Yeah, and an A-list casts the likes of Lee Min-ho (Kim Tan), Kim Woo-bin (Choi Young-do), and Park Shin Hye (Cha Eun-sang). Well, it would be great to have a more interesting plot.

Yeah, It's still CMCO with another movie to go. I'm going to say a rating of 7 out of 10 ratings.

Cha Eun-Sang, 18, lives with her mute mother. Her mother serves as a housekeeper and to help out Eun-Sang also serves part-time jobs. One day, the older sister of Eun-Sang (Yoon Jin-Seo) calls from the U.S. and informs them she is going to get married. Then Eun-Sang's mother tells Eun-Sang to give some money from their savings account to her older sister. Eun-Sang is not satisfied with her situation, so she wants to move to the U.S. herself to see if she so her sister can start a new life.

She is in for a shock when Eun-Sang arrives in California. Her older sister lives in a dirty home with a seemingly abusive deadbeat husband. Also, her sister does not get married or goes to school and works as a waitress full time. When Eun-Sang finally tracks down her sister working at a beachfront restaurant, she takes the money brought by Eun-Sang for her wedding and leaves without even saying goodbye. Eun-Sang 's hopes of beginning a better life in America are gradually fading and in tears, she crumbles to the ground.

Kim Tan, meanwhile, is not your typical high school student but a beautiful and wealthy Korean heir to a large conglomeration. He is sitting out on the beachfront restaurant patio, watching everything unfold between her sister and Eun-Sang. Kim Tan's American friend then sees a ziplock bag falling out of Eun-Sang's suitcase with a powdery substance, and runs over to scoop it up. Kim Tan knows immediately that to make traditional Korean drinks, the ziplock bag does not contain drugs but rather powder grain.
Shortly after Kim Tan 's friend Eun-Sang runs off and Kim Tan goes to help Eun-Sang. Eun-Sang comes out of a police station when the dust is settling and briefly confiscates her passport. With Eun-Sang nowhere to go, Kim Tan offers to let her stay in his home. Though they appear to come from different worlds, they develop a relationship for each other quickly. But Eun-Sang meets a girl named Rachel (Kim Ji-Won) when Kim Tan is at school. Rachel informs Eun-Sang that she is the fiance of Kim Tan, and demands that Eun-Sang immediately leave his house. Eun-Sang finally returns to South Korea.

After Eun-Sang 's departure, Kim Tan now feels nothing but emptiness. Though his older stepbrother Won (Choi Jin-Hyuk) strongly opposes his return, he decides to go back to Korea. When, like home, Kim Tan returns to his luxurious mansion, he briefly sees someone resembling Eun-Sang. Kim Tan goes to Ki-Ae (Kim Sung-Ryoung) his mother and asks about the unknown yet friendly girl he saw briefly. His mom tells him the girl is the daughter of their housekeeper and her name is Cha Eun-Sang. She lives in their house, too.

Eun Sang gets caught in a love triangle with Tan and Choi Young Do (Kim Woo Bin), the condescending heir to a luxury resort conglomerate whereas Chan Young falls in love with Tan's ex-girlfriend, Lee Bo Na (Krystal Jung), the socialite daughter of a major entertainment executive. Can a romance between the haves and the has-not survive?
